Day 40– Joyce Lee

1. What do you do for a living? (occupation/field of study)

I studied Neuroscience in college, and I currently work at an Urgent Care. I’m planning on applying to a Master's program in the near future.

2. How do you like to spend your free time?

I love spending quality time (preferably outdoors) with my family and friends! I’m a big foodie, so going on food adventures with friends is always exciting. I also enjoy discovering new hobbies- I’m currently learning how to play the ukulele and keys (my fingertips are in pain...) Besides that, I like to go to the gym and take long walks when the weather is nice out.

3. Share one interesting fact about you that most people don’t know!

I got lost and accidentally went down the black diamond slope the first time I went skiing. I haven’t attempted skiing again since, but I know one day I’ll feel brave enough to.

4. Do you have a favorite book in the Bible? If you do, which one is it and why?

Proverbs. It’s a book filled with rather frank wisdom directly from God. Whenever there are times of uncertainty in my life, I turn to the book of Proverbs and without fail, receive straightforward guidance that places me in the right direction once again.

5. Is there a verse/passage in the Bible that has significantly impacted your life? If so, which is it and why?

Romans 8:31 "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"

Such a simple verse, yet it's given me so much courage and peace, time and time again. Knowing that the creator of the universe is on my side, makes me feel well protected and safe.

6. Is there a prayer request that has been on your heart recently? If so, please share with us.

For God to renew my heart and overflow my well once again so that I can pour that love into the lives of the non-believers around me that don’t know Him.

7. Tell us about how you met Christ? (feel free to share a brief testimony)

I was born into a Christian family and so I met Christ early on in my life, thankfully. I remember my first encounter with Him back when I was attending an intimate early morning prayer with my parents in fourth grade. Ever since then, I felt His seed growing inside of my heart as I developed my relationship with Him over these past 23 years of my life. Although there have been moments where I’ve strayed away (mostly in my college years), Christ has been and continues to meet me persistently and graciously, through all of the highs and lows of my life.
