Mission & Vision

Grace Church exists…
to honor and glorify God by obeying the command to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We accomplish this through our mission and vision.

Mission

“Be disciples of Jesus who make disciples of all nations.”

Called to Be Disciples

We believe that all believers are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ. His call is not only extended to some but to all Christians (Mat. 28:19-20; Acts 11:26). Disciples are those who know and abide in the truth. They live a gospel-centered life and act upon what they believe to be true (John 8:31-31, 15:7-8).

Called to Make Disciples

We believe that disciples are called to make disciples of all nations by spreading the gospel and sharing the love of Christ in their respective mission fields, such as their homes, communities, workplaces, and school (Mat. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).

Vision

“Work together with others to spread the gospel and build a Christ-honoring community in New York.”

The vision of Grace Church is to make Christ’s disciples of all nations in our immediate neighborhood as well as other neighboring communities in New York. We see people of various nations, culture, languages, and backgrounds gathering together to worship Jesus and growing in their faith to live a missional life in their respective mission fields.

Foundation

The Biblical basis for our mission and vision can be found in the Book of Acts. In chapter 6, we see a transfer in church leadership from the Hebraic Jews (Hebrew speaking, first-generation Jews) to the Hellenistic Jews (Greek speaking, second-generation Jews). This change greatly shifted the direction of the early church in fulfilling its mission, which was to become Christ’s witnesses in Jerusalem, all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). While the Hebraic Jews only made disciples in Jerusalem, the newly appointed second-generation leaders were “scattered” to proclaim the gospel in Judea and Samaria (Acts 8:1-6) and eventually reaching the ends of the earth (Acts 8:26-40, 11:19-22).

Grace Church was established in November 6, 2016 by primarily English-speaking second- and third-generation immigrants who were originally sent by Haeun Church, a first-generation immigrant church.

We are located in Queens, New York, which is one of the most diverse places on earth. We believe that God has placed us here with a purpose, which is to make disciples of all nations, cultures, languages, and backgrounds. Thus, it is our goal to spread the gospel in our multi-ethnic neighborhood and build a Christ-honoring community by working together with other churches that share the same vision as us.
