Lent Recap - Laodicea

“Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent” (Rev. 3:19). Jesus’s words to the church in Laodicea, though stern, encourage us to seek Him all the more through repentance. Too often, we let our circumstances dictate our spiritual health. Instead, we must always recognize our need for Jesus and pray for a greater heart to know Him.

The call to repent from spiritual lukewarmness, as addressed to the church in Laodicea, resonates with our reflections during this past Lent. Each week, God invited us to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying—not just to the seven churches but also to us—and to respond with repentance and a renewed heart for Jesus. By taking on weekly tasks, we experienced God working in our lives. We were blessed to read the stories of how God was changing and encouraging the members of our church.

Let us press forward to reflect and apply our church’s vision for this year: we are little shepherds. Serving others and edifying the church requires continual personal change. Therefore, as we rely on the Spirit, let us continue to grow in God’s grace and thereby become little shepherds who are pleasing to Christ.
