Day 7 - Jasmine Ng

Is there a specific Bible passage or verse that comes to mind in the context of “Less of Me and More of Him”?

Genesis 6:17-18, 22 For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you… 22 Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.

The life of Noah comes to mind. When I think about how outrageous it seems to build an ark on dry land and how much he was probably ridiculed for it, I see how much faith he had. He chose God's plan over everything the world could offer him, and this encourages me to live boldly for God, even when what God is calling me to do seems opposite to what the world tells me.

Briefly explain which areas of your life you find most difficult to surrender to Christ.

In my current season of life, I find it most difficult to surrender my career and financial stability to Christ. Having a plan for the future and stability in that is something that I value. But in those desires, I can miss out on God's perfect plan simply by putting my desires above seeking God.

Share the areas of your life that have shifted from self-centeredness to Christ-centeredness.

I don't think any area of my life has truly shifted from self-centeredness to Christ-centeredness, but one aspect of my life where I have been striving for this is the way I see others. Previously, I would quickly judge others, but Christ is slowly changing my mindset to see others uniquely made in His image, including their specific experiences and struggles. This mindset has convicted me to always love those around me simply because God loves them as His own children.

What are some practical ways you can display Christ to those around you?

Genuinely being kind, extending grace, and being interested in others beyond what's on the surface.
