Day 3 - Joanne Lee

Is there a specific Bible passage or verse that comes to mind in the context of “Less of Me and More of Him”?

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

This verse encourages me to anchor myself in faith by prioritizing God’s guidance and wisdom over my desires and understanding. This brings comfort, particularly in times of uncertainty, because it reassures me that God is in control and will guide me along His intended path. I’m grateful that He loves us so much that He desires to bear the burdens of our lives and help us in relinquishing control— Jesus take the wheel!

Briefly explain which areas of your life you find most difficult to surrender to Christ.

In my workplace, I find it challenging to fully surrender my worries to God. My prayer is that I can navigate through the daily challenges without letting them affect me too much and that I stay firmly grounded in Christ.

Share the areas of your life that have shifted from self-centeredness to Christ-centeredness.

As I’ve been prioritizing my relationship with God, I’ve been redirecting my time and energy. It began with attending Sunday church services for fellowship and worship and has progressed to dedicating time during weekday evenings for prayer and reading Scripture. By intentionally carving out time to be with Him, I notice myself becoming more willing to surrender my desires and align my actions with His will. My prayer is to continue advancing on this journey of spiritual growth in Christ.

What are some practical ways you can display Christ to those around you?

By loving those around me as God has loved me as stated in John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.” This involves showing patience, understanding, and compassion in my daily interactions with others. Through prayer for empowerment, I hope to display kindness and empathy in both my words and actions, reflecting Christ’s love and character, and ultimately spreading His love through me.
